Pop-up stores and shop-in-shops

A pop-up has a fixed opening day and a fixed end. We build it from your design, hand it over ready to trade, and come back to take it down and clear the space.

Overview

Built on time, gone on time.

A pop-up has two dates that cannot move: the day it opens and the day the space must be empty again.

Pop-up stores, shop-in-shops, department store concessions and brand activations are some of the most visible things a brand does in a new market. They are also some of the hardest to deliver, because they are built in buildings you do not control, by people who are often not in the country, against a launch date that is already announced.

RetailOps Denmark builds pop-ups and shop-in-shops in Copenhagen and across Denmark, and takes them down again when the run ends. We work from your design and your kit, coordinate with the centre or department store, and hand the space over ready to trade.

Scope

What we deliver.

  • Build-up. Walls, floors, fixtures, furniture and displays built from your drawings and the delivered kit.
  • Graphics and signage. Wall graphics, hanging signs, window vinyl and branding installed.
  • Lighting and set-up. Track lights and display lighting positioned and focused. Electrical connections by an authorised electrician.
  • Coordination. Access times, loading, permits and house rules agreed with centre or store management.
  • Product set-up. Product placed to your guide, or handed to your team to style.
  • Maintenance during the run. Repairs and changes if something breaks or the campaign changes mid-run.
  • Take-down. Everything dismantled, packed, stored or recycled when the run ends.
  • Storage between runs. Pop-up kits kept in our warehouse until the next location.
How we work

From drawings to opening day.

  1. Brief. You send the design, the location, the dates and the kit list. We ask about anything that is unclear.
  2. Site check. We check access, loading, ceiling height and floor in the actual space, or with the centre's drawings.
  3. Plan. We agree the build schedule with you and with centre management, including deliveries and any work outside opening hours.
  4. Build. The crew builds the pop-up to the drawings, with photos to your project manager as it progresses.
  5. Handover. You walk through the finished space with us, and we fix anything on the spot.
  6. During the run. We are on call for repairs and changes.
  7. Take-down. On the last day, or the night after, everything comes out and the space is handed back clean.
Centres and stores

Working inside someone else's building.

Department stores and shopping centres have rules: when you can deliver, which lifts you can use, how much noise is allowed during opening hours, who signs the work permit and what insurance documents they need. Breaking those rules can stop a build.

We deal with the house rules for you. Tell us the location and the centre contact, and we agree access and paperwork with them before the build starts.

International brands

Your first space in Denmark.

For many brands, a pop-up or shop-in-shop is the first physical presence in Denmark, and the head office team is abroad. We act as your team on the ground: we receive the kit, check it, build the space, and send you photos and short updates in English throughout.

If your launch team flies in for the opening, the space is ready for them to style and photograph, not still being built.

Storage

One kit, many locations.

Many pop-up concepts travel: a few weeks in Copenhagen, then Aarhus, then a summer event. Between locations, the kit is stored in our warehouse in Albertslund, checked and repaired, and ready to go out again.

That saves you shipping the kit back and forth to another country, and it means the next build starts with a kit we already know.

Safety

Safe for the public.

Pop-ups are visited by the public, so everything we build must be stable and safe. Tall elements are fixed, cables are protected, and nothing sharp or loose is left in reach of customers.

We are insured with If Skadeforsikring, and we can send centre management our insurance details when they ask.

What we need

Information for a pop-up build.

  • The location, the centre or store contact, and the dates for build, opening, closing and take-down
  • Design drawings, elevations and the kit list
  • Where the kit comes from and when it arrives
  • Electrical requirements: lighting, screens, tills
  • Who styles the product: your team or ours
  • What happens to the kit after the run: storage, next location or return

Send what you have. We fill in the gaps with the centre and with you.

Paperwork

Permits, insurance and house rules.

Centres and department stores usually ask for documents before a build: a work permit, the insurance certificate of the installer, a method statement for the build, and sometimes a fire safety statement for the materials used. Some also require named crew lists for security.

We prepare these documents and send them to the centre in good time, so the build is not stopped on the first morning. If the centre has its own forms, we fill them in. If your design uses materials that need fire classification, we ask you for the product data sheets early.

Examples

Typical pop-up jobs.

Launch pop-up in a shopping centre

A lifestyle brand opens a four-week pop-up in a Copenhagen shopping centre. The kit comes from the brand's agency in the Netherlands. We receive it, check it, agree the build with centre management, build the space in two nights and hand it over to the brand's team for styling. After four weeks, we take it down in one night and store the kit.

Shop-in-shop in a department store

A fashion brand opens a branded area in a department store. We build the walls and fixtures from the agency's drawings, follow the store's rules for noise and access, and work around the store's own contractors.

Event activation

A brand activation at an event runs for one weekend. We build it on Friday, keep a crew on call during the weekend, and take it down on Sunday night.

Timeline

From brief to opening.

  1. Six to eight weeks before. Location confirmed. You send the design and the dates, and we start on access and paperwork with the centre.
  2. Four weeks before. Quote confirmed, build schedule agreed and kit delivery planned.
  3. One to two weeks before. The kit arrives at our warehouse and is checked against the kit list.
  4. Build days. The space is built, with progress photos to your project manager.
  5. Opening. The space is handed over and your team styles it.
  6. End of the run. Take-down, packing, storage or transport to the next location.
Why RetailOps

Why brands choose us for pop-ups.

There are larger contractors in Denmark, and there are cheaper ones. Brands and agencies choose RetailOps Denmark for pop-ups and shop-in-shops because of how the work is run:

  • Our own crew. The people on your job work for us, not for a subcontractor we found the day before.
  • Our own vans and warehouse. Kits, fixtures and materials can be received, stored and delivered by us, from Albertslund, so nothing depends on a third party on the night.
  • Written scope. Every job has a written quote with the scope, the crew size and the time window. What is in the quote is what happens on site.
  • English on site. Your project manager can talk to the crew lead directly in English, at any hour of the night.
  • Photos as proof. Every job ends with photos, so you can sign off without travelling to Denmark.
  • One company behind it. RetailOps Denmark is a business unit of Get It All Service ApS, CVR 36730595, with an office and warehouse in Albertslund and insurance with If Skadeforsikring.
Your quote

What decides the price.

  • The size and complexity of the build, and the number of elements
  • Build and take-down times, including night or weekend work
  • Centre requirements, permits and access restrictions
  • Maintenance or changes during the run
  • Storage between runs and transport between locations

You get a fixed written quote for build-up and take-down together, with a job reference, normally within one working day.
