Window display installation

Your campaign is designed and produced. We make sure it goes into the window in Denmark exactly as planned: on the right night, to the millimetre, with photos sent before the store opens.

Window display installation
Overview

The window is the campaign.

A campaign is planned for months and judged in seconds. The window is where that happens, so it has to be exactly what the brand signed off.

International brands usually design their windows centrally. A visual merchandising team in Barcelona, Amsterdam or London draws the scheme, a production house builds the kit, and a shipping company sends it to every market. What is often missing is the last step: a crew in Denmark that unpacks it correctly, builds it to the guide and makes it look the way the photos in the guide look. That is the part we do.

RetailOps Denmark installs campaign and seasonal windows in Copenhagen and across Denmark for fashion, footwear, beauty and lifestyle brands, and for the agencies and shopfitters that work for them. Most windows go in after closing or before opening, so customers never see a half-finished window and staff never have to work around ladders and boxes during trading hours.

We work from your visual merchandising guide, not from our own taste. If the guide says the backdrop sits 40 millimetres from the glass, it sits 40 millimetres from the glass. If something on site does not match the guide, a fixing point that is not there or a window that is a different size from the drawing, we tell your project manager before we improvise, and we document what we did.

Scope

What is included in a window install.

Every window is different, so the exact scope is written in your quote. A typical campaign window install includes:

  • Receiving the kit. Delivered to the store, or to our warehouse in Albertslund so we bring it on the night. We check the boxes against your packing list and report anything missing or damaged before install day, while there is still time to react.
  • Taking down the old window. The previous campaign is removed carefully, packed and labelled for return, stored with us, or sorted for recycling.
  • Preparing the window. Glass cleaned inside, floor and plinths cleaned, old adhesive and fixing residue removed so the new scheme starts on a clean surface.
  • Building the new scheme. Backdrops, frames, hanging systems, vinyl and window graphics, props, plinths, mannequins and product placement, all to the guide.
  • Lighting. Spotlights refocused onto the new scheme, so the hero product is lit and nothing throws a shadow on the graphics.
  • Finishing. Glass cleaned again, fingerprints removed, packaging taken away, the store floor left clean.
  • Photo report. Photos of the finished window from the street and inside, taken against the angles in your guide and sent to your project manager before the store opens.
On the night

How the job runs.

  1. Confirmation the day before. We confirm the time, the store contact, the alarm or security arrangements and that the kit is where it should be.
  2. Arrival and handover. The crew meets the store manager, security guard or key holder at the agreed time. Nothing starts until the store is handed over to us.
  3. Derig. The old window comes out first, so we can see the real condition of the space before building the new one.
  4. Build. The new scheme is built in the order the guide gives. Heavy and high elements go in first, product and props last.
  5. Check against the guide. Before anyone packs the tools, the crew lead walks through the guide page by page and compares it with the window.
  6. Photos and handover. Photos go to your project manager. The store is handed back clean, locked and with the alarm set, exactly as agreed.

If a problem comes up during the night, a broken element or a missing part, the crew lead calls your project manager straight away. If nobody can be reached, we do the safest, most reversible thing and document it with photos.

Before install day

What we need from you.

The better the information before the night, the smoother the install. When you send the request, please include as much of this as you have:

  • The visual merchandising guide or the window drawings, with dimensions
  • The packing list for the campaign kit
  • Store address, opening hours and the time we can start
  • Contact person on the night: store manager, night guard or your own project manager
  • Delivery details for the kit: carrier, expected date and where it will be stored
  • What should happen to the old campaign: return, storage or recycling
  • Any centre rules: loading times, permits, hot work rules or security sign-in

If you do not have all of this yet, send what you have. We start planning from the date and the store, and fill in the rest with you.

Standard

Quality you can check from head office.

Visual merchandising teams are rarely in the store when the window goes in. That is why our photo report matters as much as the install itself.

After every window, we send photos taken from the angles your guide uses: the full window from the street, the details, the hero product and the lighting. Your team can compare them with the guide the same morning and approve the window without travelling to Copenhagen.

If something is not right, tell us. We come back and correct it, and we agree with you in writing what caused it, so it does not happen again in the next campaign.

Rollouts

One campaign, several stores.

Many of our window jobs are part of a larger rollout: the same campaign in several Danish stores, or Denmark as one market in a European launch.

For rollouts, we plan the stores as one route. In Copenhagen, two or three stores can often be done in one night by the same crew. Stores in Aarhus, Odense or Aalborg are planned together, so travel is shared across the route instead of being charged per store.

You get one quote for the whole route, one contact person, and one photo report per store, named the way your team names the stores. That makes it easy for head office to tick off Denmark in the rollout plan.

Safety

Insurance, ladders and store rules.

We are insured with If Skadeforsikring. Our crews use proper ladders and platforms for high windows, never chairs or plinths, and fragile elements are handled with gloves and moved only by the people building them.

In shopping centres and department stores, we follow the house rules: loading times, sign-in, security escorts and any restrictions on tools or noise. If a centre needs paperwork in advance, tell us when you send the request and we prepare it.

Examples

Typical window jobs.

Seasonal changeover in a flagship store

A fashion brand changes its flagship window on Strøget from the summer to the autumn campaign. The kit arrives at our warehouse a week before. On the night, a crew of three takes down the summer scheme, packs it for return to the brand's European warehouse, builds the autumn scheme and refocuses the lights. Photos go to the VM team in Spain at 06:30.

Launch window in three stores

A footwear brand launches a new product in three Copenhagen stores on the same morning. We plan one route, one crew and one night, starting with the store that has the most complex scheme. Each store gets its own photo report, named the way the brand names its stores.

Emergency repair

A hanging element falls in a window on a Saturday. The store manager calls us, a crew goes out the same day, re-hangs the element with a safer fixing, and sends photos to the brand before the store closes.

Why RetailOps

Why brands choose us for windows.

There are larger contractors in Denmark, and there are cheaper ones. Brands and agencies choose RetailOps Denmark for window installs because of how the work is run:

  • Our own crew. The people on your job work for us, not for a subcontractor we found the day before.
  • Our own vans and warehouse. Kits, fixtures and materials can be received, stored and delivered by us, from Albertslund, so nothing depends on a third party on the night.
  • Written scope. Every job has a written quote with the scope, the crew size and the time window. What is in the quote is what happens on site.
  • English on site. Your project manager can talk to the crew lead directly in English, at any hour of the night.
  • Photos as proof. Every job ends with photos, so you can sign off without travelling to Denmark.
  • One company behind it. RetailOps Denmark is a business unit of Get It All Service ApS, CVR 36730595, with an office and warehouse in Albertslund and insurance with If Skadeforsikring.
Your quote

What decides the price.

We do not publish prices, because no two windows are the same. The things that decide the price of a window install are:

  • The size and complexity of the scheme, and how many elements have to be built
  • Whether there is an old campaign to take down and what happens to it
  • Working time: evening, overnight, early morning, Sunday or holiday
  • The number of stores, and whether they can be planned as one route
  • Distance from Copenhagen for stores outside the capital region
  • Whether we receive and store the kit before the install

You get a fixed written quote with a job reference, normally within one working day. The quote states the scope, the crew size, the date and the price, so there are no surprises on the invoice.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Can you install windows at night?

Yes. Most of our windows are installed after closing or before opening, so the store never looks unfinished during trading hours.

Who should the campaign kit be delivered to?

Either the store, or our warehouse in Albertslund. If it comes to us, we check it against the packing list and bring it on the night.

What if a part of the kit is missing or broken?

We check the kit before the night and report anything missing at once. If something breaks during install, the crew lead calls your project manager before deciding anything.

Do you install the same campaign in several stores?

Yes. We plan the stores as one route, quote the route as one job and send one photo report per store.

Do you work in shopping centres and department stores?

Yes. We follow the centre or store rules for access, loading and security, and prepare any paperwork they need in advance.

Can you take the old campaign back to us?

Yes. We pack and label it for your carrier, store it in our warehouse, or take it to recycling, as you choose.

Do you speak English on site?

Yes. Our crews and project contact work in English and Danish, and most of our international clients communicate with us in English.

How quickly do we get a quote?

Normally within one working day. For an emergency, call us and we answer the same day.
